Gifted & Talented

Gifted and Talented

At St Joseph's, every member of our community is recognised as an individual who is able, gifted and talented.  A unique person in our school.

Gifted & Talented Co-ordinator: Mrs L Kimblin

All pupils are talented and gifted in some way - for example, writing, playing sports, helping others, art, drama, music etc - and everybody should be encouraged to foster these talents and look out for and celebrate them in others.

At St Joseph’s, that is exactly what we do.  We nurture all of our pupils to encourage them to uphold their gifts and talents through a range of enrichment activities, talent shows and much, much more!

What does 'Gifted' and 'Talented' mean?

‘Gifted’ refers to students who achieve, or have the ability to achieve, significantly above average, compared with other students in their year group, in one or more of the NC subjects other than Art, Performing Arts or PE.

The ‘talented’ part refers to those students who achieve significantly above average in Art, Performing Arts or PE compared with other students in their year group.  This also means a student can be both Gifted & Talented.
