Extended Services.

The ‘extended services’ core offer states that by 2010, all children, young people and families will be able to access:

Swift & easy referral (All children and young people should be able to access additional support services to meet their needs);

Varied menu of activities (There will be a wide range of activities that children and young people can help plan and get involved in before and after school and in school holidays);

Positive parenting support (Support should be provided for parents as their child starts primary or secondary school.  In addition to this, parenting sessions will be available for all parents and the opportunity for families to learn together);

Community (The school is a venue for wider community activities);

Child care (All parents/carers of primary pupils will be able to access child care from 8am until 6pm.  Secondary schools will be open from 8am to 6pm and will provide a range of activities for young people).
